Tutoring

British boarding schools provide excellent academic support and we expect your child to get everything they need there. If additional help is needed in a particular subject, especially in preparation for A-Levels or the IB, we have put together a list of trusted partners we are happy to recommend.

Tutoring / Entrance Test / Exam Preparation

Ms Arabella Stuart worked for many years as Director of Admissions at Sevenoaks School. She now brings this experience to her work as a freelance consultant, using her knowledge to help students prepare for the often highly demanding entrance exams and interviews at British schools.

Berlitz - As we have repeatedly been asked whether we can arrange contact with an independent test centre to make it easier to sit the entrance exams for English boarding schools, we have been co-operating with Berlitz since May 2025 to reduce the administrative effort for our families. Please feel free to contact us about this.
Anyone looking for targeted English lessons before starting their school in England can also contact Berlitz, which has language schools at 50 sites in Germany. At Berlitz, lessons can take place in person or online, including on Saturdays. Clients of Glasmacher receive a 5% discount on the usual price when booking language lessons with Berlitz.

IB Doctor - Founded by recent IB graduates, the organisation offers personalised tutoring to help IB students achieve outstanding exam results. All IB Doctor tutors are IB graduates who have achieved a score of 7 at Higher Level in the subjects in which they offer support.

Keystone Tutors is regarded as one of the most professional and trustworthy tutoring organisations in London. Its dedicated team of 200 tutors draws on the expertise of professional tutors and former teachers from prestigious British boarding schools. Keystone also provides tailored preparation for entrance exams to British schools, offers personalised tutoring during the holidays, and helps students prepare for applications to UK universities.

UCB – Education & Consultancy in Munich offers courses for pupils returning from a stay abroad who wish to prepare specifically for their return to German school. The return-to-school courses focus on German and mathematics, though other subjects can also be arranged by agreement. UCB has also been running successful Abitur preparation courses during the autumn, winter and Easter holidays for many years.
